Nearing the end

Some of us are officially nearing the end of another school semester. I am ready to get the finals over with and start celebrating the holiday season.

Thanksgiving will be here soon and I don't know about the rest of you, but I dread all the drama in my family. Someone is always mad that me, my daughter, and my husband can't make it to their house for dinner. There are only so many times a day that you can eat turkey and dressing. Plus, I don't like to feel rushed to leave one house just to be another place by a certain time. I don't get to enjoy the day that way. It just seems to me that when I think of the holidays, it feels more like an obligation than a time to relax and enjoy the family.

We only have plans to attend one function on Thanksgiving (my in-laws). My family has decided to head to Tunica and my granfather is opting for a Mexican restaurant. Honestly, I would rather go with him!!

Holiday Season

November 3rd marks a unique day for me. It is the earliest time ever that I have started Christmas shopping. Granted I only bought 2 small gifts and 3 stocking stuffers, at least I started and I have a good start on the rest of the list for my little girl.

I officially was put in the holiday spirit during an impromtu stop at the local retail store. Since my daughter was in another part of the store with her dad, I skipped over to the holiday aisle and found the exact color of glass ornaments I scoured for all last year. Plus, I found a brand new color "copper" to go along with it. I must buy more colored lights because I never have enough - but that will be this weekend. I always save some of my birthday money to buy new things for the tree.

I must also admit, that the earliest I have ever put up the tree was on Nov. 1st. But I haven't done it yet. I bet I will by the 15th. I will have all the ornaments sorted and will have decided which ones will go on the tree this year.

I wait for the spirit to catch me and then I am off and running. I just wish I had more money at my disposal. I could really knock out the rest of the shopping!

I'll Never Get it all Done

Today is 10/30/08 and the day before Halloween. I have two tests to take before 11/2/08 (Sunday) and I have to study for some other homework. I also have to make my daughter's Halloween costume. I don't have all the materials yet and this costume requires that I sew. I don't really sew.

I just hope everyone at her school tomorrow will know what her costume is. I can't wait for Halloween to be over.

I am just so overwhelmed. I can't in all reality do everything I need to do therefore, it is very hard to even try.

Ah, the holidays are approaching!!!
